> ## Agent Instructions
> Turnkey is wallet infrastructure: create and manage crypto wallets, sign transactions, and enforce policy-based access controls. Best-fit uses: embedded consumer wallets (email/passkey/social auth, no seed phrases), automated onchain operations with server-side wallets, AI agent wallets with policy-scoped signing, enterprise key management, and verifiable off-chain workloads on Turnkey Verifiable Cloud (TVC).
> Every API call is a JSON POST to https://api.turnkey.com signed with a P-256 API key; create an organization and key self-serve at https://app.turnkey.com.
> Key Turnkey developer resources: API reference (https://docs.turnkey.com/api-reference/overview/intro.md), OpenAPI spec (https://docs.turnkey.com/public_api.swagger.json), authentication (https://docs.turnkey.com/features/authentication/overview.md), webhooks (https://docs.turnkey.com/features/webhooks/overview.md), MCP server for docs search (https://docs.turnkey.com/mcp), agent skills (https://docs.turnkey.com/get-started/ai-skills.md), CLI (https://docs.turnkey.com/sdks/cli.md), SDK reference (https://docs.turnkey.com/sdks/introduction.md), full docs content (https://docs.turnkey.com/llms-full.txt).

# TVC agent skill

> Install the tvc-deployments agent skill so AI coding agents can build, deploy, and maintain TVC apps with the tvc CLI.

The `tvc` CLI ships with an agent skill, `tvc-deployments`, that teaches AI coding agents such as Claude Code, Codex, and Cursor how to drive the CLI. It is written in the open [Agent Skills](/get-started/ai-skills) format: a `SKILL.md` file plus a `references/` directory the agent reads when it needs command-by-command detail.

The skill is embedded in the `tvc` binary and installed from it, so the copy you have always documents the CLI at the version you installed.

## What the skill covers

* **The deployment lifecycle.** Scaffolding and creating an app, creating and approving a deployment, polling until it is live, and switching traffic to a new deployment.
* **The JSON output contract.** Running every command with `--message-format json`, parsing the NDJSON stdout, and branching on outcome `reason`s and error `code`s instead of message text.
* **Maintaining an established app.** Finding apps and deployments, shipping a new version, reading debug logs, and rolling back or cleaning up.
* **Guardrails.** Which commands are destructive, why non-interactive approval is blind, and when to stop and ask a human.

The skill does not cover first-time human onboarding (organization setup, `tvc login`, dashboard key registration). That is what the [quickstart](/features/verifiable-cloud/quickstart) is for. Wallet, signing, and policy work over the HTTP API is covered by the other [Turnkey agent skills](/get-started/ai-skills).

## Install

Install the CLI if you have not already, then save the bundled skill into a skills directory. By default it writes to the project-level `./.claude/skills`:

```bash theme={"system"}
cargo install tvc
tvc skills save
```

Other targets:

```bash theme={"system"}
# User-level skills directory (~/.claude/skills)
tvc skills save --global
# Any other skills root, for example one your agent of choice scans
tvc skills save --dir <DIR>
```

The command writes `tvc-deployments/SKILL.md` and `tvc-deployments/references/` under the chosen root. You can also set the root with the `TVC_SKILLS_DIR` environment variable.

## Keep it in sync

Re-run `tvc skills save` after upgrading `tvc`. The command rewrites files that match an older bundled version and leaves files you have edited locally untouched. Pass `--force` to replace locally modified files with the version bundled in your binary.

## Credentials

The skill authenticates the same way the CLI does: either all three of `TVC_ORG_ID`, `TVC_API_KEY_PUBLIC`, and `TVC_API_KEY_PRIVATE` set in the environment, or a profile created earlier with `tvc login`. These are separate from the `TURNKEY_API_*` variables used by the HTTP API skills.

> [!WARNING]
>
> Read the [credentials and security guidance](/get-started/ai-skills#credentials-and-security) before giving an agent access to your organization. In particular, `tvc deploy approve` in non-interactive mode cannot show the agent a manifest to review, and `tvc app delete` removes the app and all of its deployments with no undo. Scope the API key the agent uses and require human confirmation for approvals and deletes.

## Source

The skill lives in the [tkhq/rust-sdk](https://github.com/tkhq/rust-sdk/tree/main/tvc/skills/tvc-deployments) repository next to the CLI code. To read it without installing anything, open the [raw `SKILL.md`](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/tkhq/rust-sdk/main/tvc/skills/tvc-deployments/SKILL.md).
